COMMUNITY PRACTICE + CONSULTING

Building creative communities that work.

I help artists, educators, and nonprofit leaders turn ideas into programs, organizations, partnerships, and communities built to last.

For a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of art, youth development, nonprofit leadership, and community building. As co-founder and Executive Artistic Director of Girls Write Nashville, I’ve grown a $2,800 grassroots project into an award-winning youth arts 501(c)(3) that employs artists and educators to serve hundreds of young people each year in partnership with Nashville public schools.

I bring that experience to consulting and facilitation with artists, educators, nonprofit leaders, and community builders.

I particularly love helping with:

  • Nonprofit & Organizational Strategy. Turning grassroots ideas into functioning organizations — from early-stage nonprofit development to operationalizing, building capacity, and navigating growth.
  • Creative Youth Development & Program Design. Building arts and youth programs rooted in agency, belonging, and meaningful participation.
  • Community Building & Partnerships. Building creative communities, partnerships, networks, and collaborative projects.
  • Facilitation & Participatory Planning. Helping groups listen, build consensus, make decisions, and move toward action.
  • Evaluation & Impact. Designing practical evaluation systems and turning what you learn into stronger programs and compelling impact stories.

Work With Me

I work with artists, nonprofit leaders, educators, and community builders through hour-long advising sessions focused on a specific question, challenge, or opportunity. Sessions are conversational and practical: bring something you’re wrestling with, and we’ll use the hour to clarify the problem, explore possible approaches, and identify concrete next steps. I’m also available for select longer-term consulting and facilitation projects when there’s a strong fit.
